Can you see past lives in a chart? The question is phrased in several different ways, but this is one of the most repeated questions an astrologer gets.
It is important to understand, both for a client and for an astrologer, that whatever answers arise in a reading are filtered through the lens of the astrologer before they then filtered through the lens of the person who is receiving the reading.
And that means the astrologer’s life experiences, religious background or traditions, technical training, perceptive ability, empathy, level of awareness, intuition, and wisdom guide the reading. This is true no matter who the astrologer is or who the person receiving the reading is.
The reading goes through two lenses. The astrologer’s. And the client’s.
It is important to understand not all lenses are the same. What astrologers all ultimately gaze upon is the same. But the lenses they view through can vary significantly. What is “seen” by an astrologer and what is conveyed to the client depends on the astrologer’s lens before words to the client are ever uttered.
In short, the answer is yes. Past lives can be seen in a natal chart.
But the short answer is useless without understanding the long answer.
You may have grown up going to church. Or at some point in your life you may have heard of the Gloria Patri. In some traditions it is called the Doxology, from the Greek word meaning an exaltation or an expression of glory or praise.
AS IS WAS IS NOW AND EVER SHALL BE
You will often hear these words followed by world without end, amen.
Most modern sources will tell you these words from the Gloria Patri are rooted in the 4th Century doctrinal battle of the of Christianity over whether God was a three-fold Deity. Christianity today widely, if not totally, “accepts” the Holy Trinity of God being the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But Christianity was not always united in that belief. At least not prior to the 4th Century.
But far predating Christian battle of doctrine, there were ancient roots in the belief of forever. Eternity. And the essence of that belief in eternity was a tripartite belief in the PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE.
The “Holy Trinity” and the beliefs buried in the Gloria Patri are far, far older than the Doxology. And they are far, far older than Christianity. A belief in eternity, a belief that the past-present-future are connected were ancient at the time Yeshua was born in Jersualem.
How does this matter when you’re asking about a past life?
The essence of a soul is eternal. But the frames of awareness and the experiences of a lifetime change. Each time you close your eyes you can never be certain what will be in front of them when you open them again.
Just as each day is a new day and you are the same person when you wake in the morning as you were when you went to sleep last night, so is each lifetime. You are the same person, or at least the same soul, when one lifetime goes to sleep and when you awake in a new one.
Just as each day is a new day and new opportunity, so is each lifetime. Yesterday doesn’t disappear when we wake up today. The memories of it may fade. But today and tomorrow are extensions of yesterday.
Time is connected. And Time is eternal in the same way Life is.
In the same way that you are the sum of your parts, you are the sum of your Past. Forever is indelibly part of you even if you cannot fully remember it.
